Hero VIDA Project VXZ: New Electric Motorcycle Showcased at EICMA 2026

Hero Vida VXZ electric motorcycle concept in pink, purple and blue, front three-quarter view

Hero published no specs for its sharpest electric motorcycle yet at EICMA 2026. Its own dashboard gave away the only number anyone has: 150 km left at 80% charge, in ECO mode, with 3 km on the odometer.

That is a display on a show bike, not a claim. Take it as a hint, nothing more.

What the screen shows

The Vida Project VXZ gets a wide horizontal touchscreen, closer to a tablet than an instrument cluster. There is a search bar across the middle, a service reminder, a park function, and traction control and ABS symbols along the top.

The interesting bit sits at the bottom: two ride mode buttons marked Street and Track. The switchgear also carries an SOS control.

A Track mode on a company's first performance EV is not decoration.

What the bike shows

Everything else has to be read off the machine, because Hero has said nothing.

  • Belt final drive, motor sitting low near the swingarm pivot
  • Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 tyres, which are track rubber, not commuter rubber
  • Upside-down forks at the front, a monoshock and a raw cast swingarm at the back
  • Discs at both ends, with a radially mounted caliper up front
  • Split rider and pillion seats, a high sharp tail, a slim tail light
  • A projector headlamp inside a V-shaped LED signature
  • A charging socket under a hinged cover on the tank-style panel

Not disclosed: battery size, motor power, torque, top speed, weight, charging standard, price, launch date.

What this means for you

The VXZ is the one Vida concept built with Zero Motorcycles, the US performance EV maker Hero has partnered with since 2022. The UBX naked and the DIRT.E MX7 shown alongside it are Hero's own.

Hero is running two electric motorcycle platforms, UBEX and VXZ, with its first electric motorcycle targeted at 2027. The VXZ is the more ambitious of the two, so expect the UBEX-based bike to reach showrooms first.

So where does each one land? Our read, and this is EVGyan's estimate rather than anything Hero has said: the VXZ is aimed squarely at Ultraviolette F77 territory, and should end up as its most direct Indian rival. Everything on the bike points that way, from the Supercorsa tyres to the twin front discs to the Track mode. On output we would expect something in the 30 to 40 kW band to make that fight a real one. Hero has published no power figure, so treat the number as ours, not theirs.

The UBEX is the volume play underneath it, pitched at the buyer who would otherwise look at a 125cc or 150cc petrol motorcycle. We covered it separately in Hero VIDA UBX 06 Pro Electric Bike Could Launch in India in 2027.

The EVGyan take: Vida sells scooters today, close to 30,000 a month. Commuter businesses do not fit Supercorsa tyres and a Track mode by accident. This is Hero telling us it wants a second kind of buyer. A concept costs nothing though, so the VXZ gets our attention, not our verdict. We will judge it the day Hero publishes a kW figure, a kWh figure and a price.
